The other good news is that May sees a reduced slate of refurbishments, longer park hours, and only moderate crowds. We’ve had wonderful visits during May in terms of weather, crowds, and entertainment. However, even right around Memorial Day, crowds at Walt Disney World aren’t nearly as bad as you might expect for a holiday weekend at Walt Disney World. For most people, earlier in the month is going to be better. We like the month of May at Walt Disney World. Plus, other info & tips for Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. When temperatures reach these levels, Disney puts safety measures in place for Cast Members. Strong to severe thunderstorms can be expected as well. Although at this time, they are still in the double digits but with a heat index of 101° to 108°. There is a risk of Walt Disney World reaching triple digits as well. The entire state is experiencing “extremely hot and humid conditions.” The Western part of Florida may experience temperatures in the triple digits. This morning the Florida Division of Emergency Management issued a warning to both residents and guests of Florida. It also seems as if the heat was cranked up as well. The Disney Parks are getting busier as guests arrive to celebrate the 4th of July at the “Most Magical Place on Earth” in a few days. ![]()
